What you'll learn
Eight modules, taught in sequence, moving from fundamentals to client-ready standard. These sit inside Phase 2 (Technical Skills) of the academy’s six-phase programme, below.

Safe use of ladders, sprayers and painting tools, and handling of paints and solvents.

Surface Preparation
Cleaning, sanding, filling and priming a surface so paint holds and lasts.

Brush, roller and spray techniques for walls, ceilings and woodwork.

Exterior Painting & Weatherproofing
Painting exterior surfaces to withstand sun, rain and time.

Colour, Materials & Estimating
Choosing paint types and colours, and estimating quantities and cost for a job.

Decorative & Specialist Finishes
Textured, decorative and specialist finishing techniques.

Wallpaper & Surface Coverings
Measuring, cutting and hanging wallpaper and other surface coverings.

Quality & Snagging Standards
Checking a finished paint job against the standard a client expects.
