The Fashion Design Academy trains apprentices in the full craft of garment making, sketching, pattern drafting, cutting, sewing and finishing, so they leave able to construct a garment from a client brief to a wearable, sellable piece.

Eight modules, taught in sequence, moving from fundamentals to client-ready standard.

Fashion Sketching & Design Fundamentals
Translating an idea into a wearable design on paper before it ever reaches fabric.

Pattern Drafting & Grading
Building accurate patterns from measurements and adjusting them across sizes.

Fabric & Textile Knowledge
Understanding fibres, weaves and how different fabrics behave when cut and sewn.

Machine & Hand Sewing Techniques
Core stitching, seam finishes and machine operation, from straight seams to darts and zips.

Garment Construction & Fitting
Assembling a full garment and adjusting fit on a live model or mannequin.

Costing, Sourcing & Client Briefs
Pricing a garment, sourcing materials, and working from a client’s brief to a finished piece.

Small-Batch & Made-to-Order Production
Producing multiple units to a consistent standard, on time.
